Warmer Days

A year ago today My family and I were all in a warmer place... Florida, and with the weather colder than ever and everyone else in route to their vacation destination for the winter, I can't help but think back to warmer days and wish that we had planned a family vacation somewhere warm again!!

We met my parents, grandpa, and my brothers and their families there. It was great to spend time with all of them especially my grandpa!

We planned a lot for the week that we were there, but managed to squeeze in a beach and pool day!!

Emily and Haylee hula hooping on the main street, while waiting for the parade

While we were at the Animal Kingdom a train dropped us off at a petting farm, the kids loved it!!
Brandon is warming Hannah and Easton up to the goat.

Of course we had to visit with some characters!!

It was great to be able to take a break from the cold winter weather, to meet my family, to enjoy
time with them, and to make many lasting memories. Hopefully we can escape to somewhere warm this winter, even if it is just an inside water park!!

Guess who got glasses???

Emily got the dreaded letter from school stating that we needed to have her eyes checked by her physician. I made the appointment and kept my fingers crossed that she wouldn't need them, but about halfway through the exam I new the inevitable was coming, I was shocked at how bad her eye sight was!! After the exam the doctor told Emily to pick out a pair of glasses, because unfortunately she was going to be needed them, but Emily unlike me could hardly hold in her excitement and wanted to go home with them that day!! So two out of the four of my daughters have fallen victim to the Hobbs' curse of bad eyesight, could they have taken after their mom who has better than 20/20.....nope!! In the end Emily picked out a cute pair, and she's excited for now so will go with that for now......

We went to dinner at Applebees and Maddy got her favorite thing for dinner SHRIMP, after dinner they all chose a dessert and then the sang to Maddy. From there we went to the movies Maddy decided she wanted to see "Marley and Me", "Hotel for Dogs" and "Mall Cop" were the other options am glad she chose the one she did, it was a great movie and everybody loved it!! We ended her birthday with cake and ice cream. It was a great day, I'm glad I was the lucky one that got to go and spend the night with her!!

Happy Birthday Madisyn!!

Happy birthday Maddy or (a.k.a. Hollywood) as her Grandpa Swenson likes to call her!!

Now those of you that know Maddy know she's a little bit of a "Glamour Queen" she's always the one that has the cool hats, the funky cute shoes, the big glasses, the crazy gloves, and jewelery of ever kind!!

Since Maddy was little she has been in to all that fun stuff, and when she would get extra money, very seldom would she spend it on toys, but rather on cute new shoes, hats, or whatever fun new accessories that were out there!! She is a girl after my own heart.

Not only is Maddy a Glamour Queen, she also is one of the most sweetest people I know, Maddy always has a smile on her face, she is my little mother hen, my peacemaker, my bookworm, and one of my best friends!! Happy 10th birthday Madisyn.

They learn so fast!!

This afternoon I got home from helping in Emily's class and walked into the bedroom where Hannah was watching T.V. while her Daddy was taking a shower, I went to pickup the basket of dirty clothes and noticed someone had colored all over my bedroom wall with pen. Hmmm......... I wonder who that could be?? So I asked Hannah, " Hannah did you color on the wall?" She then with an excited face said, " I color on wall," like a proud artist showing off their work, I then told her " NO, NO, we don't color on the wall!!" with that she then burst into tears. So a little later in the day I was vacuuming the floors and noticed more coloring on the wall in the family room Ugggh.... I then ask Hannah again, "Hannah did you color on the wall?" She then looks at me for a little bit and says, '"No, I don't color on wall." Man, they sure learn fast, and after breaking her heart on her last masterpiece I couldn't manage to get mad again, maybe it had something to do with this cute face......

In Hannah's defense, I think the one in the family room was from a different day, I remember Emily telling me that Hannah had drawn on the wall. Hopefully, that's all I find!!

Hat Day!!

It was "Hat Day" at school today, and the girls were sooo excited to wear one of their favorite hats. This day would have to be on the top of the list when it comes to days where they can wear different things to school among the list are : "Crazy Sock Day, Crazy Hair Day, and P.J. Day, but Hat Day tops them all!!

I'm sure Maddy wishes it could be "Hat Day" everyday she is our "Accessory Queen"!!!

Sledding

My girls are definitely deprived in this area. As a child I went sledding at least 10 times each winter, rather it be with my parents, at my Grandpa and Grandma's houses, or if it was my brothers and I walking to the Tire park in our neighborhood. It was one of my fondest memories of Winter!! Now as for my girls I can't say the same for, I think they have been sledding maybe 10 times in their lives. Each year this is something a swear I'm going to be better at, but when you live in a state where the high, like today was 4 it just doesn't end up happening. Thank goodness for our cold, snow loving neighbors who made it possible for the girls to go when ever they want...........
