Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we had our traditional dinner of shrimp pasta, salad, garlic bread and sparkling cider. Then the kids made cookies for Santa, unwrapped their brother and sisters gifts and new jammies. We watched a Christmas movie, read "Twas the night before Christmas" and then the kids set out the cookies and milk for Santa and then they all went to bed.

Christmas activities

We've had a fun busy December. We've tried to fit in some of our favorite Christmas traditions and also add some new ones as well. Gingerbread houses, 12 days of Christmas, baking and candy making, hot chocolate and Christmas movie nights, caroling, and a brother and sisters Christmas shopping trip.  We've also stayed busy with Christmas concerts, Christmas dance recitals, Mike's birthday,  wrapping presents, shopping, shopping, and more shopping.

Snow Day

Wednesday afternoon it started snowing and didn't stop until early Thursday morning. With the snow, we also got wind, which ended up taking out 40,000 peoples power (we were amongst that number) at 1:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. It was a cool 60 degrees in our house at 8:00 in the morning. Because of the snow storm the kids ended up getting 2 snow days and extended their winter break to a whopping 18 days off! We finally ended up getting our power back on at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday night....Thank. Goodness. Longest. Day. Ever.

The kids have ENJOYED the snow, Mason was brought in kicking and screaming one night because he was not done in the snow... even though he had been out there way too long and it was time to get ready for bed.

Play Dates

Once a month my friends and I have a play/lunch date for the mommies and kiddos. It is an opportunity to have some yummy food and some fun conversations.

This month my friend Angie hosted, she had a fun activity planned for the kids, they made Christmas trees out of  icecream cones, the kids had a blast!
