A day at the lake...in APRIL??

We have been blessed with a warm Spring, we've had many park and lake days thus far!! I have so many projects in my house and yard to do, but I can't help but take full advantage of the beautiful weather we've been having, and surprisingly the dishes, laundry, bathrooms and weeds were still waiting for me each day when I got home...

New Toys

Mike informed me that it was time for Mason to have some boys toys, he said that it was pretty pathetic watching Mason push around all the girls' toys like they were cars. Truth be told Mike's been waiting along time to buy something other than barbies, Polly pockets, dishes, play make-up and dress ups, Mike has a list a mile long of toys that he can't wait to buy him, childhood cartoons to watch with him, and toys that he has saved since childhood to share with a child that would cherish the toys like he did.

Mike was very pleased that Mason liked his new toys.

Prom Night

Tonight's the night she's been waiting for, for oh so many days.

Up, curled, down, or straight she's tried it in so many different ways.

Seeing her in her Prom dress fills me with a sense of pride, to see the smile on her face with Logan by her side.

Watching her walk out the door with hair and makeup done, I tear up at the beautiful young woman my baby girls' become.

I hope that you have fun tonight at your very first Prom, I can't wait to see you have many more.

Sweet 16

Mike and I are both in shock are first born baby girl is 16, I think Mike's recent Facebook status says it all,

" Please help I just became the father of a 16 year old teenage girl, known side effects, stray boys, high cell phone bills, car always low on gas and thinning of hair!"

I am so proud of you Ashley, you're turning into a beautiful young woman, your outgoing, a good listener, a great friend to others, someone that always has a beautiful smile on your face, and a great example to your little sisters, Happy Birthday Ashley!!

April Fools

After returning home from a play date at the lake, Ashley informed me that I missed a call while I was out, here is the conversation that followed:

Ashley: "Mom somebody called for you on my cell phone and wanted you to call her back."

Me: " Who was it and what did she want?"

Ashley: " I think it was someone from Young Womens, maybe?? and has a question about me??, but I'm not really sure though I couldn't understand her she was really just mumbling, here is her name and number."

Me: " Sister Behr?"

Ashley:" I guess? That's what she spelled."

So I called the number and a lady on the other end answers, " Minnesota Zoo." Ashley then busts up laughing when she sees the confused look on my face, and Ashley then says I couldn't understand her because she was a BEAR silly, April Fools!!"

She got me good, I'm usually the prankster on April Fools!
