Grandma and Grandpa's Visit

Grandpa and Grandma Hobbs came out for a visit the last week of August we had a great visit with them and got to do a lot of fun things. Our favorite was our trip to Cartridge jail.  The spirit was so strong there, it was an amazing experience to be sitting in such a sacred place. We also went to Nauvoo, shopping, out to eat at some yummy restaurants,  Winter Quarters and downtown to have lunch with Mike.  We are very thankful for visits from our loved ones!!

Easy Peezy

It will be three weeks this Monday that Mason's been going potty on the toilet like a big boy! He was a gem to potty train, he had a handful of accidents, he has stayed dry at nap time and bedtime since day one and has had no problem with the number two situation. What's all this talk that boys are so much harder to train. No more diapers for this Momma... WHEW!!!

Steamboat Springs

We spent a week in Steamboat Springs with my family. Meridee and Brandon got us a beautiful two bedroom condo. The condo had  beautiful pools, basketball court and volley ball court that we took full advantage of. We spent the days hiking up to a beautiful waterfall,  the Hot Springs, shopping, sitting by the pool, and Steamboat Lake where we did  paddle boating. It was a great trip with a lot of great memories made.

1st day of school

The kids started school a little over a week ago. As sad as I was to see summer come to an end, it was great to get back into a routine again. Madisyn started 8th, Emily 5th and Hannah 1st grade.

My little girl

youtubeThis song has been my song for Ashley since she was little. Mike and I got pregnant with her at a VERY young age and I still remember to this day how shocked and scared I was, I had NO idea how I was going to raise a child.
9 months later however, my maternal instincts kicked in and when Ashley Paige came into this world I couldn't imagine how I  could possible love someone so much. She has always been my little tag along, she's been in my life longer than she hasn't. I literally grew up with my own daughter. I really treasure the relationship I have with her.

My dreaded time has come where I have to send Ashley off to college, she'll definitely be taking a piece of my heart with her to Utah, I'll miss her more than words can say...... .
As the lyrics say, the curly hair, the loaded Honda, 15    30 pairs of shoes, heading to the west.... However, she won't have my American Express. :)
I love you Ashley Paige

Dear Emily,

I can't believe you turned double digits you are getting too big too fast! I want you to know how special you are to your family. You are definitely the comedian  of the family, you always have something funny and witty to say. You are a great friend to everyone, you make me smile on a daily basis. Some of my favorite things about you are your beautiful eyes,  laugh,  kind heart, personality, the example you are to everyone. I love your hugs, stories and your interesting food choices. I am so happy you got to spend your birthday with your cousins, it's been a long time since you've got to do that. I hope this year is a great one for you.
Love, Mom.

Some of the things that you love right now now are Monster high dolls, your American girl doll and playing with your friends.
